Sea of Pages stems from artist Zito Hsu’s ongoing exploration of memory as something fluid, layered, and elusive. To her, memory resembles an unfinished book—each page carrying traces of forgetting and rediscovery. Emotional threads ripple like waves, sometimes receding, sometimes surging forward, intertwined with an internal sense of time. Seemingly insignificant details—scraps of paper, seeds, leaves, or fragments of feeling—quietly shape the way we revisit the past, and serve as recurring points of return in her creative process.
The exhibition features both drawings and ceramic sculptures, coming together like an open book—or a sea in gentle motion. In her sculptural works, oceanic details emerge with subtlety: shimmering water textures, seabirds in flight, and silhouettes evoking nightfall along a quiet coast. The visual language of books and pages weaves through the forms, echoing the layered and shifting nature of memory itself. Her drawings continue to center on the emotional depth of blue, while recent additions of warm tones lend the work a soft but dimensional presence, forming a space where narrative, material, and feeling quietly converge.

Zito Hsu

Zito Hsu is an illustrator and multidisciplinary artist with an MA in Illustration from Kingston University, London. Her practice spans drawing, ceramics, and art toys, transforming everyday observations and subtle emotional states into visual expressions. With a language that is both gentle and grounded, she frequently works with layered shades of blue, paired with recurring symbols—paper boats, pages, plants, and introspective figures—that navigate the landscape of personal memory and inner reflection. In her world, images are not merely vessels of narrative, but pathways into emotion and perception.
Her recent collaborations include Netflix, Uniqlo, SWATCH, AVEDA, Taiwan High Speed Rail, Taipei Fine Arts Museum, MoCA Taipei, and JUT NOKE. She has exhibited widely and engaged in cross-disciplinary projects across visual arts and design. Her artist residency experiences—STUPIN at Taipei Artist Village , DALI ART Residency in Taichung and the SVA Summer Residency in New York —have further enriched her sensitivity to place, culture, and material, gradually shaping a poetic and distinctly personal visual language.
