hour, flower— Ananda Serné Residency Exhibition
時鐘的滴答聲，與蘭花幼苗在培植介質中穩固根系的細微動作：《hour, flower》源自藝術家造訪屏東蘭園的體驗，沿著被人為光線控制的環境，追蹤花卉在全球流通的軌跡，以及人類與植物在日夜節律中交織出的關係。展覽中包含一支16毫米膠片短片，捕捉位於阿姆斯特丹附近、全球最大的花卉拍賣市場的節奏；來自世界各地的植物匯聚於此，再迅速運往歐洲各地。Serné 被這種近乎催眠的節奏吸引，選擇以類比膠片創作，以凸顯快速流通的商品與膠片材質本身緩慢、受限的特性之間的張力。
The ticking of a clock and the roots of an orchid seedling anchoring themselves in their substrate: hour, flower grows out of a visit to an orchid nursery in Pingtung, tracing the global passage of flowers under manipulated light and the intertwined day–night cycles of humans and plants. The exhibition includes a short 16 mm film capturing the rhythm of the world’s largest flower auction near Amsterdam, where plants from across the globe arrive before being dispatched throughout Europe. Serné was drawn to the hypnotic pace of this process, choosing to work with analogue film to highlight the contrast between the abundance and speed of circulating goods and the slowness and constraints of the medium itself.
