岩語 Earth, Rock, and a Stir in the Heart 袁家珣個展 Chumik Solo Exhibition
《岩語》是關於土地、記憶與精神歸屬的探尋途徑。袁家珣的創作實踐根植於「行走-採集」這一人類學與藝術相交融的行動中。她所收集的，無論是古絲路上的砂礫、雪域之巔的冰磧，或是家鄉平凡的土，在她看來並非被動的繪畫媒材，而是承載著時間與故事的生命物質。藝術家以近乎儀軌的方式，搗碎岩石，研磨土壤，在畫板上層層疊加、刮刻。這緩慢的勞作過程，交織著多重時間：藝術家身體感知的「此刻」，岩石歷經千萬年風化的「深時」，以及人類在自然偉力中追尋意義的永恆時間。如此，大地的物質敘事在雙手間徐徐展開，以本體語言參與言說。一段記憶，一種色彩，一次凝視。
本次展出的作品，源於袁家珣近期深入中亞及印藏邊界的壁畫考查，亦融匯了她十餘年在高原區域持續行走的沉積。在極端自然的包圍中，她思索著人類如何向超越存在的崇高力量臣服，而關於死亡、自我與信仰的意識，又如何在此地萌生。這片土地所賦予的、深刻而謙卑的連結感，在她心中化為一陣「心旋」，成為運用自然創作的內在驅力。
最終，畫作遊走於地景與內心「留白」的幽微邊界。山巒雲氣的形貌漸漸消融，化為對於堅韌與脆弱、存在與無常的靜觀。《岩語》引導觀者脫離人類中心視角，重新感應大地那原始而永恆的生命脈搏。
The exhibition “Earth, Rock, and a Stir in the Heart” presents a body of work that interrogates the very substance of place and belonging. Chumik forages natural pigments—soil, sand, rocks, organic matter—from her homeland as well as distant terrains, grounding the work in a palpable reality at the intersection of anthropology and art. Her creative process is akin to a ritual of recall: pounding rock, grinding soil, layering and scraping the painted surface. The material narrative unfolds as the slow, deliberate labor bridges multiple temporalities—the immediacy of touch, the geological epoch of a stone＆#039;s erosion, and humanity＆#039;s timeless quest for meaning within nature＆#039;s vastness.
The works presented here emerge from Chumik’s recent research expedition studying Buddhist murals in Central Asia and the Indo-Tibetan borderlands, while also informed by over a decade of trekking the desolate Himalayas. In these encounters with extreme elements, the artist contemplates human surrender to sublime, existential forces and how consciousness—of mortality, self, and faith—is forged in such landscapes. This profound, humbling connectedness lingers as a "stir in the heart," becoming the impetus for her work with natural materials.
The resulting paintings navigate the liminal space between a specific topography and the abstract "non-place" of inner resonance. Forms dissolve into meditations on resilience and fragility, presence and impermanence, inviting a re-enchantment with the primordial pulse of the Earth.
