That was originally the sound of soledad.
From the dark alleys of Buenos Aires to the Rive Gauche of Paris, and finally to 52nd Street in New York, it was collected in the bellows of the accordion, pressed, turned over, and pulled. Desire disturbs its rhythm, while love harmonizes its timbre and night loosens up its melody. Finally, there is a period of harmonious breathing that is just what is needed for healing.
Richard Galliano has been hailed by The Guardian as the world's most important accordionist after Astor Piazzolla, the father of nuevo tango. With the enchanting accordion, as well as the willful guitar and double bass, tango, chanson, jazz, and classical music are woven into a new style. The New York Tango Trio's touching melodies seem to bring out those dreams, passions, and regrets that lie deep within our hearts.

(Coba)
“ Richard Galliano has changed the course of accordion history.
We can talk about before and after Galliano.” —— Yasuhiro Kobayashi
In the past, there never seemed to have been one great artist associated with the accordion, an instrument that, because of its connotations, seemed as far removed from swing as it is possible to be. Then along came Richard Galliano, fired by an unrivaled determination to share his conviction that the accordion was worthy have a place at the heart of jazz alongside the saxophone and trumpet. Inspired by the admiration he felt for his friend Astor Piazzolla, creator of the Tango Nuevo, Galliano succeeded not just in doing this, but with his “new musette” style managed to breathe new life into a thoroughly French tradition that seemed to have got stuck.
Richard Galliano expresses himself in all musical fields, from classical to jazz.
He is nowadays the only accordion player to record for the prestigious classical music label “Deutsche Grammophon”.
Richard Galliano has recorded more than 70 albums under his own name and collaborated with an impressive number of artists。
